Our Vision
The vision of Fifth Church is to be an
attractive and inviting community that brings people who are
presently on the outside into life-changing relationships
with Jesus and His followers. We are doing this by updating
our current facilities and launching a new congregation.
Annual Ministry Report
Each year this gives us an opportunity to look back and see some of the highlights of the past year so that we can get a better picture of where we've been, where we are presently, and where we are headed in the future.

Summer Worship Schedule
Our Summer Sunday morning worship services are at 10:00 am
beginning Sunday, May 18 thru Sunday, September 7.
Congregational Forum
Please join us after the morning service on Sunday, July 20
for a second congregational forum with the Consistory
Structure Team (CST). The CST has been working diligently to
identify the "optimal structure and nominating process" for
the consistory of Fifth Church. As described at the first
forum, the work of the team to this point has focused on the
issue of structure. It has yet to take up the nominating
process. After incorporating input from the first forum, the
team has developed a more detailed proposal outlining exactly
what the suggested change might look like. The team would
value your input on Sunday, July 20.

Opportunities to Serve
Yo Ho Holy!
The dates for Vacation Bible School are Monday, July 7 -
Wednesday, July 9 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. We need a number of
volunteers to make this a positive experience for the kids.
The pre-school room will stay in one place but participate in
the same kind of activities.
Please sign up in the lobby or call Krista Batdorff at
245-9247 with any questions.
Summer Help for Nurseries
During the summer months, we like to give our
regular teachers a bit of a break. We ask that parents
volunteer in the nursery once or twice during the
summer. There will be just one service at 10:00 am.
Please contact Lisa Scherpenisse and let her know if
you want to be scheduled this summer. Also let her
know the dates you will be available to help in the
nursery.
Use Your Gifts!
Contact the church office or Bruce Mulder for additional opportunities to serve.

Deacons Corner
Summer is finally
here! Many of our congregation will be going on
vacations and spending weekends at cottages as the
summer progresses. With the rising cost of gas and
food prices predicted to go up it is often difficult
to make ends meet. These can be difficult times but as
Paul states in Philippians 4:19, "My God will meet all
your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ
Jesus." We can be assured that God will meet our needs
if we will trust in him. With this being said, as God
is faithful to us, we must also be faithful. At the
May congregational meeting some time was spent on
reviewing our budget situation. It was explained that
we are behind in our projected year to date giving.
Please be faithful with your gifts over the summer as
this is historically a time of diminished giving.

Second Offering
The second offering for
July will take place on Sunday, July 6. This offering
will be designated for
Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity of Kent
County strengthens families and communities in service
to God through partnerships, healthy house building,
and affordable home ownership.
