Adults at Fifth Church come together in educational, social and recreational settings to explore God's creation. Leaders from the church and experts from outside Fifth lead us in study of the Bible and Christian issues, such as economic justice and evangelism. Groups of men and women gather for prayer both on Sunday and during the week, and small groups of families spend time together in fellowship and community service.

Disciple - Becoming Disciples through Bible Study
Disciple is a program of disciplined Bible study aimed at
developing strong Christian leaders. It focuses on the disciple
as learner, believer, follower, proclaimer, and servant while
providing the fellowship of a small group for study, prayer,
preparation, support, and servanthood.
Disciple assumes that the Bible is key to renewal in the
church. The study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time,
emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God
and draws upon the work of scholars to aid understanding of the
Bible. A Disciple Group is made up on 8-14 members who covenant
together in terms of commitment of time, daily and weekly
preparation, and attendance at all weekly sessions. Group
members commit to studying about thirty minutes daily in
preparation for the weekly group session and participating in an
orientation session and 31 weekly study sessions. Also offered
Tuesday afternoons, 1:00-3:00 pm. For more information contact
Bruce Mulder.
VantagePoint3
VantagePoint3 provides in-depth resources for spiritual formation
and leadership development. Persons of faith discover how to move
beyond themselves to developing others as learners and leaders.
VantagePoint3 assists by providing training processes, materials,
and events designed to deepen participants' life-ling learning and
discipleship. VantagePoint3 weaves together three significant
streams: (1) emergence...how Christians develop over time as
persons and as leaders, (2) dynamics of adult learning...the
processes which help adults learn and discover, and (3) spiritual
formation...learning to pay attention to the already present
action of God in our lives as followers of Christ.
A VP3 group is made up of 8-10 participants who commit to being
actively involved in weekly meetings and approximately five hours
of preparation for each class meeting. The first year, The
Emerging Year, focuses on discipleship and spiritual formation for
life and ministry. The second year, The Equipping Year, emphasizes
spiritual direction, team building, and strategic and process
qualities for life and ministry. The second year is only available
to those who have completed the first year.
Group members commit to approximately 30 weekly study sessions.
The first year, Emerging, is also offered Tuesday afternoons
1:00-3:00 pm. For more information please contact Burt Braunius. Video Café
Video Cafe' is 6:45 pm in the middle fellowship hall. Featuring video clips and discussion each Wednesday evening from
